Each year the association has the opportunity to award scholarships for individuals to further their education in insurance or to apply toward a college degree. The association’s Education Fund was renamed the “Sibyl Hoge Memorial Scholarship”, in honor of Sibyl Hoge, a longtime member of the association and employee of Mr. James W. Thomas at Fred S. James Ins. Agency. After her death in 1977, Mr. Thomas made a donation, and continues to do so annually to the Dallas Association of Insurance Professionals education fund in honor of Sibyl. The association contributes annually to the fund with profits raised at our annual Bowling Tournament and other events held throughout the year.
